About us Our Pedigree is very much a family and many of our customers say we have created a business-club as a "Life Style". Our founder member was the late Leslie John Shaw, who dedicated his life during the 50s and 60s to teaching both adults and youngsters to fly. Les become one of the very few Qualified Army Parachute instructors and once Les left the Army he still had a love for seeing people airborne, and soon took to the skies forming an Army Cadet Force. where he He would tow pieces of fabric behind land rovers, where his cadets soon started self releasing from cable, to be meet with Les on a loudhailer, "Right" "Left" Legs together Well done!!!!! Les' sons Mike and Andy soon joined in, although sister Alex and wife Ray also had one go!!! But it was Mike and Andy that soon started to take the competition scene by storm. Reaching national, international and world level, sadly Mike had a tragic accident pushing competition limits. So in 1988, Andy with a Land rover and a few parachutes, put the three heads on his shoulders and become the youngest Chief Flying Instructor within the UK, possibly the world. Now, after competing and being British team member, captain, and flyer manager he still competes and teaches. He is the 2004 world Silver and 2005 bronze medallist. The dedication and experience powers us above our fellow flying schools as it helps develop both our newcomers club coaches and instructor alike. Our proud competition stance has seen our pilots and instructor reach all levels of competition: duration, distance, and accuracy. Accuracy flying has remained our focal point since living close to London available airspace does not allow us to fly to thousands of feet, though it's high enough for stacks of enjoyment up to 1800ft. Accuracy is something we have dedicated a lot of time to because it teaches you a lot about glider control, that's take offs and landings along with planning accurate routes as you start to plan your cross country flights.
