Hang Gliding - Club Pilot

Club pilot is the final stage of learning within the school environment.  Once you are qualified as a 'CP' you can class yourself as a real pilot, and spread your wings around the UK, flying other sites, and joining local clubs.  You no longer need to book your flying days, and can go flying at your leisure or after work.  You have arrived...welcome to hang gliding!!

During the club pilot course you are taught, to soar the skies reaching 500ft plus, using ridge and thermal lift.  You may also be taught how to land back on top of the hill so you will no longer have to walk up after every flight, although this may be done in a club at a later date.

You will learn how to make your glider fly faster, control it in active air, recognise and recover from stalls, and how to fly safely with other gliders.  Circuit and landing patterns will be perfected during the CP course.

You will sit a series of 4 x 40min lectures during the CP course covering Metrology - Airlaw/Airmanship - Theroy of Flight- followed by a 45 minute exam, 70% being the pass rate.
